The E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, a K-12 school in Washington, D.C., brings quality education to children in the nation's capital regardless of race, socioeconomic status, and home language.
Last week, Ram Ragoo, an umpire for the Washington Cricket League and a volunteer for the Maryland Youth Cricket Association, visited the school to introduce its students to cricket and to deliver an American Cricket Champ set so that they could continue to play and learn the game.
Ram explained the rules using a handmade model that he often uses to educate adult players and umpires regarding the finer points of cricket law.
This past weekend, Ram was a particpant in the ICC Level I Coaches Course held in nearby Greenbelt, Maryland.
Great job, Ram!
