On October 27, the Timonium Elementary School in Maryland held its annual Fitness Fair, and cricket was a featured sport. USYCA, represented by President Jamie Harrison and Greg Edwards of South Carroll (MD) Cricket, hosted an information table at the fair, and spent the day teaching children the basics of the game. In addition, the school's gymnasium was the site of an hour-long cricket demonstration. At the end of the day, Timonium Elementary's principal, Donna Scaccio, was presented with a USYCA American Cricket Champ set for her school's use.
A number of the students attending were already cricket fans, having participated in the Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council cricket program last summer.
