The Lutherville Timonium Recreation Council in Baltimore County, Maryland, will be adding cricket to its roster of youth sports for Summer 2012, where it will join baseball, basketball, football and soccer, among others. LTRC is unique in that they have an existing adult cricket program, and they expect the new youth program to be a great complement to this. The adult cricket program may also prove to be a great source of volunteer coaches for the youngsters.
Kris W. Mervine, Community Supervisor at Baltimore County Department of Recreation & Parks, said, "The Lutherville Timonium Recreation Council and Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks are excited about this new program offering. LTRC already has an adult cricket program and so it is a natural fit. Both programs may be able to help each other as they look to promote this sport locally."
"USYCA couldn't be happier in being able to partner with such an outstanding organization as the LTRC," President Jamie Harrison said. "This program will be a tremendous opportunity for the children now playing cricket in area schools, and we're looking forward with great excitement to next Summer."
