This summer, the first-ever Indiana cricket coaching camp for local players was held in Columbus, Indiana.
Columbus Mayor Kristen Brown was present with USYCA Vice-President and ICC-certified coach Jatin Patel. The camp was the combined effort of the Indiana Youth Cricket Association, the India Association, the Pakistan Association and the Trinidad-Trinbago Association. Jatin Patel provided instructions and demonstrations to twenty attendees.
The goal of the camp was to train more coaches so that they can introduce cricket to local area schools, youth programs and communities in Bartholomew County, Indiana. A number of these newly-trained volunteers later ran a cricket camp at Clifty Park in Columbus on September 15.
Great job, Jatin!
