East Bay Youth Cricket Association Media Release
Fremont, CA - East Bay Youth Cricket Association's Under-13 players completed its first two-day tour of Los Angeles over the Memorial Day weekend. "CAL Friendship Cup" as rightly termed both clubs was won by team LA 2-0 in two 40-over games.
EYCA Under-13 players were in LA from May 25th to 27th and played two extremely exciting 40-over games with professional umpires. "It was great learning experience for our boys playing against a solid Southern California team who put up great show," said EYCA COO Shri Erra. He also thanked all parents, team managers and coaches on both sides who turned up in big numbers to support this event & who ensured games were played in right spirit.
The Southern California team will also visit Bay Area and play two return games against EYCA Under-13 team sometime in August. "Really good cricket tour with great fixtures and first class hospitality. Team from Southern California was tremendous. It's a great place for a cricket tour as they are fanatical about it and the games were a great experience for our boys," said EYCA President Gopal Samant.
"We have always said that we will play anyone, anytime and anyplace, when it comes to giving kids the opportunity to play in different conditions, locations & pitches we are up for it. We are glad to have found a friend in Los Angeles who have agreed to make it a yearly two-way event. Imagine the amount of experience both team will get playing in different conditions every year. It is truly first of its kind partnership in history of youth cricket in USA."
If you have an U11, U13 or U15 team and are willing to host/visit, please feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be glad to get the partnership going.
