The following has been received from Nabeel Ahmed:
"Dear Jamie,
I will contribute $500 towards your youth school cricket
development program. I personally appreciate the effort you are making
to promote cricket at grassroots level in this country.
I have been reading and following your activities as far as
school cricket is concerned. I think your school cricket program is the
best program of this country. Cricket in school systems is a must and
you are doing a great job to promote it in the school systems.
I have been involved in cricket in this country for thirty years,
first as a player for eighteen years and then as a cricket promotor. My
undivided attention has been with people and organizations such as
yours that promote cricket at the grassroots level at its best.
Keep up the good work and one day in few years, when cricket is
played nationwide in the schools, you can sit on the side and cherish
the moment.
Good Luck,
Nabeel Ahmed"
Nabeel Ahmed founded the Detroit Cricket Club in 1982 and went on to
play cricket in a league in Canada for fifteen years. Ahmed is the CEO
of First Choice Home Health Inc. and has previously served as the 1st
Vice-President of USACA. In December, he announced his intention to
contest for the office of President of USACA.
"USYCA is delighted to have Nabeel Ahmed join with us on our mission
to bring cricket to youngsters in America," President Jamie Harrison
said. "It is only through the dedication of cricket leaders such as Mr.
Ahmed that our great game will advance, and we are proud to have him on
the USYCA team."
