USYCA is pleased to announce that the Cincinnati Cricket Club has joined its ranks in the promotion of youth cricket in America.
The CCC have wasted no time getting started, having already brought cricket to the students at Edwin D. Smith Elementary School in Dayton earlier this month.
"By supporting and encouraging the game of cricket to the youth of our generation, we hope to see the game rise to new levels in the USA," said Jerome Fernandes of the CCC . "That is why Cincinnati Cricket Club believes in promoting the sport to our youth and supporting the cause of the USYCA, who as an organization have the resources and personnel dedicated to this effort.
"A lot of our club members grew up watching and playing cricket back home in the subcontinent. Our kids don't have the opportunity here in the U.S. to experience cricket at the grass roots level. This is the main reason why our club is keen to promote the sport with USYCA, in hope that cricket will have its place with other popular sports in the gyms and PE classes at schools across America."
"The Cincinnati Cricket Club has demonstrated the seriousness of its intention to develop youth cricket in southwestern Ohio, and USYCA is excited to be partnering with them," USYCA President Jamie Harrison said. "I have no doubt that we're about to see a lot of activity from the area around Cincinnati because of the great group of individuals in the CCC, and we consider ourselves fortunate to have them on the USYCA team."
